NewsBit

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

NewsBit ("the app") is made by Cybercodex. It shows news stories from publishers' public news feeds. The app has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or location.

What stays on your phone

You can clear what the feed has learned in Settings → Reset what the feed has learned. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in Android settings deletes all of it.

News feeds

To show stories, the app downloads feed files for your country and languages from our server (Google Cloud Firestore). The request says which feed it wants, not who you are. Pictures are loaded from the publishers' sites, and "Read full story" opens the publisher's page in your browser, where that publisher's own privacy policy applies.

App improvement

The app uses Google Firebase:

Listening and sharing

"Listen" reads a story aloud with your phone's own text-to-speech engine. "Share" opens your phone's share menu with the story's headline, summary and link; nothing is sent to us.

Advertising

This version of the app shows no ads. If a later version does, this policy will say so before that version is released.

What we do not do

We do not sell data, do not build a profile of you on our servers, and do not share your reading history with anyone.

Children

The app is a general news app and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes and contact

We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new date. Questions or requests: support@cybercodex.co.in.
